Japanese curry

Japanese curry sauce base (5 servings)
2.5 cups water
Chuck beef (about $8 worth)
2 potatoes
2 green apples
2 carrots
1 white onion
2 tbsp oil

- fry beef in hot oil to brown and seal
- remove beef
- add onions to pan and fry till soft
- add potatoes and carrots and fry
- add water and curry base
- add apples
- bring to boil, then pour contents into slow cooker on auto/low for 2 hrs
